Overview

Yitcha Kawkaw Kopitiam Kota Damansara 壹茶浓浓咖啡店 is a modern homage to the traditional Malaysian kopitiam, nestled in the bustling heart of Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya. This cafe captures the nostalgic charm of olden days through vintage-inspired décor, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels both familiar and refreshing. The space is air-conditioned, offering comfort to patrons seeking a respite from the tropical heat, making it an ideal spot for casual dining or takeaway.

The highlight here is undoubtedly their robust coffee selection. Known for serving some of the best kopi in the region, Yitcha excels with its rich, bold flavors—especially the Kopi Kaw and white coffee ice, both praised by locals who enjoy their coffee strong and often unsweetened. The coffee experience is deeply rooted in tradition yet crafted with precision, appealing to kopi lovers who crave authenticity in every cup.

The menu showcases signature Malaysian hawker fare with a focus on Ipoh-inspired dishes. The Curry Ipoh Chee Cheong Fun with Pig Rind stands out with its savory broth and texture contrasts, marrying tender rice rolls with crispy pork rind. Their Ipoh Curry Mee offers a comforting, flavorful bowl that echoes the region’s culinary heritage. For noodle enthusiasts, the Wantan Mee and the shredded chicken variant highlight simple yet satisfying flavors, although some dishes lean toward lighter ingredient portions.

Pastries at Yitcha are a treat on their own. The Kampung Egg Tart, Kaya Butter Puff, and 烧包 (Siew Pao) earn high praise for their flaky, buttery textures and balanced sweetness. These traditional treats perfectly complement the kopitiam’s coffee and provide a taste of Malaysian bakery craftsmanship. Frequent visitors recommend the coconut tart and chicken floss bean biscuits, which balance savory and sweet in delightful ways.

The dining experience is enhanced by attentive and friendly staff, making it welcoming for locals and families alike. The provision of cutleries warmed in hot water is a thoughtful nod to traditional dining etiquette, reflecting care in every detail. While prices lean toward the higher side, this kopitiam delivers quality and ambiance that justify the premium.

Yitcha caters to a diverse audience—from nostalgic locals, coffee aficionados, to families and casual eaters drawn by its nostalgic charm and curated menu. Whether seeking a quick takeaway coffee to energize the day or settling in for a relaxed meal, this kopitiam stands out as a meaningful blend of heritage and comfort in Kota Damansara’s cafe scene.

Great food, but the absolute MVP is their coffee. They have the best tasting kopi if you also prefer to order it with no sugar. My whole family loves their coffee and often drop by to takeaway Cham C Kosong or Kopi C Kosong. Their egg tarts are great too!!

Nice kopitiam with decor that reflects the olden days. There's quite a variety on their menu with 10 items that are highly recommended. We tried their Ipoh shredded chicken noodle and Hakka mee, with kaya butter toast and steamed bread on the side, and an ice white coffee to wash it down. The KSHF is good with a delicious broth, chicken and noodles. The Hakka mee is ok, but resembles more a thin Hor fun rather than mee. Both dishes come with little ingredients despite the +30% price tag. The roast is nice but the steamed bread and butter kaya is better, highly recommended. Coffee is good. Overall, nice dining experience, as it comes with air-conditioning. Despite that, it's still on the expensive side, hence the 4⭐. I love that they provide cutleries in hot water. I have yet to try their pastry which was tempting.

Eating here or takeaway more than 50x at least. The pastries very yummy. These are my family’s favourite - Siew Pao, coconut tart and chicken floss bean biscuits. We liked their kaw kaw kopi too.

Be careful to NOT wear a white shirt when eating here. The noodles were soaked in sauce and absolutely flavorful! I loved every bite of it. I did end up getting splashed with sauce on my white top. I’m coming back…this time not wearing a white shirt.

This was our third visit, and they serve delicious pastries like siew bao, kaya puff, and chan bao. We also ordered Hakka mee, zhu cheong fan, chives dumplings and chicken sa hor fun. All were tasty. However, parking is difficult to find, even on a Sunday morning.
